Design with Geopathic Stress in Mind

There has been a large increase in interest in design with well-being in mind.  Some concentrate on the obvious areas, such as the use of materials or amount of natural light, others go deeper and use some less common methods when designing their homes.

Geopathic stress – what is it?

Geopathic stress is a distorted or disrupted electromagnetic field of the Earth (Schumann Resonance / Waves).  The Earth resonates with an electromagnetic frequency of approximately 7.83 Hz – Schumann resonances (SR), which falls within the range of (alpha) human brainwaves.  Underground streams, sewers, water pipes, electricity, tunnels, and underground railways, mineral formations, and geological faults distort the natural resonance of the Earth thus creating geopathic stress (GS).  Sleeping or spending a lot of time in geopathic stress zones can ill effects on our health, performance, and wellbeing.

Should you be worried about geopathic stress?

No.  For us, it is part of a healthy and reasonable approach to consider where such fault lines are based on the information we have, and if possible avoid placing bedrooms or living areas in such areas.  Where this is difficult or impossible to achieve, at the very least, seating and beds should not be placed directly over these lines.

How to detect geopathic stress lines?

Here, I would say there are two methods. Firstly, without using any special equipment, you can mark any of the known causes as listed at the beginning of this article – do not worry if this becomes a very messy drawing.  However, if this is done on tracing paper, for example, you can always overlay this onto your proposed layout to double-check.

The second method is more scientific, where a geopat would use proven methods to mark up your site with all the possible causes of GS and this will give you a more complete picture, literally.

The next steps are then as follows :

What can you do for protection?

1) Reduce the amount of electricity near the beds

One surefire way is to avoid creating more geopathic stress lines, which includes high concentrations of electric cables.  This is of course not fully avoidable, but you should shield these properly.  The basic idea here is to use common sense and have a necessary minimum of sockets and switches in bedrooms, and avoid the temptation of having several double sockets on either side of the bed.  You can charge mobile phones, alarm clocks, tablets, and computers within a few steps away from your bed. However in that case it greatly reduces the disturbance.

2) Use Feng Shui to improve your layout

This is a very helpful way to improve well being and also a highly reasonable set of design rules if one believes in this or not.  We regularly use the help of Feng Shui in our projects, you can read more about it here – Feng shui consultation.

3) Use metal rods

A popular and simple method is to place metal rods at strategic points in your home. However, anywhere you suspect a geopathic disturbance in order to block or neutralize the distorted flow of energy.  These points should be verified by dowsing.  To make the method work, you will also have to know the flow of the earth lines.  The rods can be copper, brass, or steel.  Some people also feel that they can use other objects to redirect the flow of the Earth’s energy. This will however resolve disturbances.  Called “earth acupuncture,” this method involves placing things like leaves, crystals, flowers, or shells at strategic points

4) Rearrange your living area

You may be unknowingly exposing yourself to geopathic stress.  There may be a disturbance underneath your bed, your dining room table, your bathtub, or your favorite chair.  If you have identified a potential trouble spot, rearrange your furniture. This will help you to avoid spending too much time over or near the point.  It may be that the disturbance covers a large area.  Aim to re-position your bed or other furniture away from the stress lines.  If this does not work you will have to consider other options.  For example, tools to neutralize the disturbance or to enhance your own energy field.

You can read more about what GS has been found to cause in several great articles: http://www.helios3.com/  and https://westerngeomancy.org/services/geopathic-stress/.
