Loft conversion in Balham
When you walk from Balham tube station towards the east, you will pass several very picturesque residential streets. Our property is on one of them, in-midst a terraced row of houses.
This first and second level property was completely refurbished for rental, and possible future occupation by the owners. We refurbished it in a traditional but uncluttered manner. VORBILD Architecture converted the loft to a Master Suite with bathroom, without dormers.
We removed the flat ceiling in the kitchen, which is at the back, and exposed the sloping roof above. Then we added a large Velux roof light to give more light into this kitchen-diner. The original brick fire place has been lovingly restored.
The rear garden has now a raised decking and a small storage shed.
