2024 Dubai Design Fair
Dubai Design Week 2024 was held from November 5–10 at Dubai Design District (d3). It marked the 10th anniversary of the Middle East’s largest creative festival. This milestone edition brought together over 1,000 designers, architects, and brands from more than 50 countries, showcasing a dynamic blend of innovation, sustainability, and cultural heritage.
It was my first time visiting this event, and since going to Dubai for the last three years it was great to finally visit it. This time of year is still very warm and sunny but nowhere near the often unbearable heat.
I chose to focus on the various pieces exhibited outside, nestled in between small business stałls and cafes rather than the indoor event.
The festival also spotlighted emerging talent through initiatives like Urban Commissions, which challenged designers to reinterpret the concept of communal tables. The winning project, “TukTukDum” by Oman-based studio Altqadum, offered a playful take on mobile social spaces .
