13 Client Supply Items – Cornices, architraves and skirting
These are decorative elements that will clearly set your rooms’ character. It is the little details that will add to the beauty of your new interior.
While you are free to choose any style of cornices or architraves you like or to be true to one specific historical period, it is good to choose appropriate detailing.
It is also wise to look at any existing features in your flat or house, especially before you think about removing them – perhaps because they don’t look good anymore due to being over-painted numerous times and now have unsightly cracks.
We always advise our clients to retain some of the existing features – usually in the main entrance hallway and the front reception room. This will also help you choose other features in the house, as it all should work together.
One last point of advice – it’s useful to choose cornices, architraves, skirting, any dado rails and even internal doors at the same time – this way you will get the combination absolutely right. We usually organise samples for our Clients on site to see the first, which is very important.
